One of the greatest things that can happen to a mother is to have a baby!
Unfortunately, not all couples are blessed with an adorable child.
Ready for Motherhood
Carmela and her husband have been married for eight years. However, it was only in 2015 that they finally decided it was time for her to become pregnant.
The couple first consulted a fertility specialist or endocrinologist in one of the leading medical institutions in the country.
The young woman tried so-called mommy-boosting exercises to boost fertility. Ultra-sound results were normal.
Carmela was also prescribed CLOMID drug for ovulation. Nonetheless, the outcome was not encouraging at all.
One year after, she opted for Intrauterine Insemination or IUI twice but still Carmela was not able to conceive a child.
In January of this year, Carmela happened to meet Dr. Maricor Pomperada – Tibe of Medical City and Integrated Laser and Complementary Medicine (ILACM). Carmela was elated because her menstrual period was already delayed for four days. Yet, husband and wife were dismayed after learning that the Ultra-sound text yielded negative results. She was advised to go through another fertility work-out and try Intravenous Laser Therapy (IVLT) at ILACM.
Carmela had her first IVLT session on January 19. Incidentally, this was also her first day of menstruation. One week after this, the anxious lady was scheduled for repeat follicular test which showed there no large ovarian follicles. Dr. Maricor recommended another three sessions of laser therapy. Carmela was given Pregnile injection after these additional sessions together with instructions for dates of contact, medications and monitoring.
The following month Carmela again experienced delayed menstruation followed by slight spotting. The pregnancy test was still negative but there were two lines the next day after repeating the test. She had Beta HCG hormone test after one month which produced less than 2, 000 (level) or miscarriage. A follow-up test the next week indicated HCG at 9, 000 or clear pregnancy.
At this time, Carmela is already seven months pregnant. She is an expectant mother all because of prayers, determination and laser therapy.
